Questions that need answers.

Do I need to mark my work with one of the images above for it to be uncopyrighted?

Nope! You are welcome to use the images above, but you can also simply type (or write, or paint) "uncopyright" and you're good to go. Some folks may also appreciate including the year (e.g., "Uncopyrighted 2016").

You could also license your work using Creative Commons Zero (CC0), Copyleft, or in other ways to accomplish similar results.

Can I create my own "Uncopyrighted" mark or badge?

You sure can! You're welcome to use the Adobe Illustrator source files linked above to start, or to create something completely from scratch. Be creative. Have fun with it.
